Men Are Not Fine

Most men were handed a model that told them the measure of a man is how much he can carry without letting it show. A 2024 systematic review in the American Journal of Men’s Health found stigma is the leading barrier to help-seeking in men globally......across cultures, across age groups. That’s not a weakness. It’s a design problem.

HeadsUpGuys was built for exactly that barrier. Not a waiting room, not a hotline. Research-backed tools a man can pick up alone, on his own terms, at whatever hour things get loud......with no one watching and nothing to explain.

These tools were built for him.

Joe Rachert, Community Engagement & Partnerships at HeadsUpGuys, introduced me to the term knowledge translation — the idea that research doesn't work unless it reaches the people who need it, in language they can actually use. That's what HeadsUpGuys does. That's what drew me here.
