The Mensdate Project
Men of different ages laughing together around a brunch table

Reducing the global rate of loss by suicide......one brunch at a time.

The Mensdate Project has been a registered federal not-for-profit since June 2026. Charitable registration with the Canada Revenue Agency is in progress.

Why this exists

Suicide is the leading cause of death for Canadian men aged 15 to 49. The story underneath it is almost always the same one......isolation. No one to call. No room to be honest in.

I lost my best friend Jason in January 2025. He had people who loved him. He just didn't have a room. The Mensdate Project is the room I wish he'd walked into.

How it works

Once a month. Three hours. A brunch venue with a private room. Men pay their own meal......that's the skin in the game, and it keeps the room honest. One or two local co-hosts from the men's health space, pro bono.

A keynote. Real tools you can use that afternoon. Guided work you do together. A panel on what's available in the city right now for men who need help in their own backyard. Not theory. Not slides. Not certificates.

What you walk out with

Tools you can use the same day, not someday. A room of men who get it. A short list of real local people you can call when things get heavy. Friendships you didn't think you needed. Loud, real laughs......the kind men have when the armour comes off for an hour.

More ways in.

Two programs, built from real work, for the people most affected by depression, grief, and suicide. The belief underneath both is simple: if we want to move the needle on the rate of loss, people need to be happy and connected to love.

No more. Say no more to that old life. No to the grief. No to the isolation. No to the belief that this is how life will always feel. It isn’t easy and we know it……so we built something to support people just like you, by people just like you.

For the woman who lost him.

Ten sessions. A way through grief that doesn't ask you to leave him behind.

Starts in New Westminster

The first Mensdate Project brunch happens here, in the city where I live. New West is home base......the first room, the first table, the first men who said yes before there was any proof it would work. If you're here and you want a seat, drop your email below.

The first brunch is coming summer 2026.

What's next

One city at a time. One room at a time. The model is built to travel......same structure, local hosts, local resources, local men. New West is the proof of concept. After that, the map opens up.
