Five questions. Plain answers.
The Mensdate Project is a not-for-profit built on one belief, that men connected to love and to what a genuinely happy life looks like are less likely to lose their lives to suicide. It started with a friendship and a monthly brunch. It grew into a mission. Two programs. One for men, one for women. Monthly Mensdate brunches. New West first, then any city that wants one. One city, one room at a time.
Two programs.
No More Man For men who know something has to change. Ten sessions of real conversation, peer-to-peer. Built around two cornerstones, love and happiness, and the tools to actually get there.
No More Woman For women carrying grief after losing someone to suicide. Ten sessions. You don't have to leave him behind to find your way forward.
Both are funded through donations. Cost is never the barrier.
No. This isn't therapy or counselling. I've taken counselling courses and I've been in and out of therapy for over twenty years, and I believe in both.
This is the other 50%, the half that doesn't get enough credit, especially when it comes to men. It's the talking therapy Freud's patient named over a hundred years ago. Half of what any of us needs is a room to say the thing in and someone to listen. That's the Mensdate brunch.
If it's bigger than the room, we'll support you finding the right place and what to say, without shame or judgement.
The brunches Each man buys his own meal. That's intentional. This isn't about a free meal, it's about showing up for yourself. Want to bring a friend and cover his meal? That's between you.
Bringing a brunch to your city Costs vary by location. We do the work, budgeting, logistics, reaching out to local and provincial funding sources to see what's available in your area.
The programs No More Man and No More Woman are both funded through donations. The full value of the 10-session program is $1,360. Programs can also be purchased outright. Donation-based applicants are reviewed monthly by the board. Start the conversation.
